ASIS Boats has been commissioned to design new RIB boats to support the Jebel Ali port operations.
Jebel Ali Port, operated by DP World UAE Region, is the largest marine terminal in the Middle East and the flagship facility of DP World’s portfolio of over 65 marine terminals across six continents. Strategically located in Dubai, Jebel Ali Port is at the crossroads of a region, providing market access to over 2 billion people.
The handing-over of the first 12-meter Port Operations Support RIB Boat took place last week. At 12m in length, this Rigid Inflatable Boat is designed with a spacious center cabin comprising suspension seats for six people to maximize comfort and minimize fatigue. This RIB’s cabin comes equipped with air conditioning, interior ventilation fans, a weather-tight sliding port, and starboard screen windows.
The 12-meter-deep V-Hull Port Operations Support RIB Boat features a non-skid deck and an inflatable collar with a reinforced bow rail to provide stability during personnel and equipment loading and off loading. On top of the six passengers in the cabin, four more seats are available outside.
Equipped with full electronics and Navigational equipment such as Radar, GPS, VHF, AIS –Automatic Identification System -Siren and Police lights, the boat is perfect for maintaining safe standards of navigation.
This 12m Port Operations Support RIB Boat can be found carrying out any of the following tasks as part of normal port operation: management of traffic movement in the port, conducting spot checks on vessel navigational documentation, escorting vessels as required, enforcing port bylaws, pilotage, and any other additional harbor functions like survey work, buoy and mooring maintenance, towing, line handling, and patrol duties.
With speeds reaching 40 knots, this Port Operations Support RIB Boat is fast and very responsive. It will be an essential element in day to day port operations.
